I look ahead to the year 2026 because I see every new year as a reset. A moment to pause, reflect, and consciously choose how I want to move forward. For me, a new year is not about erasing the past, but about learning from it — recognizing what worked, what didn’t, and deciding to do things differently when needed. Whether on a personal or professional level, I believe growth starts with reflection, and 2026 represents a new opportunity to do exactly that.
Personal Goals
On a personal level, one of my main goals for 2026 is to become more conscious of my lifestyle, especially when it comes to sustainability. Our generation is often described as the generation that needs to drive change — and while sustainability is something I engage with academically and professionally, I strongly believe that real change starts with yourself. The choices we make every day matter. Becoming more aware of how I live, consume, and contribute to the world around me is an important step in aligning my values with my actions.
Another important personal goal is to stop letting opportunities pass me by. In 2026, I want to actively say “yes” more often — to challenges, collaborations, and experiences that push me out of my comfort zone. Growth rarely happens in familiar territory, and I want to make a conscious effort to embrace opportunities when they arise, even when they feel uncomfortable or uncertain.
Lastly, I want my professional mindset to extend beyond work and reflect in my everyday life. Discipline, curiosity, responsibility, and ambition should not be limited to a job title or working hours. In 2026, I want these values to be visible in how I live, learn, and interact with others on a daily basis.
Professional Goals
Professionally, 2026 is a year in which I want to grow significantly in the digital space. One of my main ambitions is to build and expand a professional digital platform for myself. A platform that represents who I am, what I stand for, and where I am heading.
This platform is not just about visibility or reach. It is a space for growth — a place where I can learn, gain inspiration, share insights, and connect with people who challenge me and contribute to my development. I want to use it to connect with others from my generation, exchange ideas, and hopefully inspire people who are on a similar journey of growth and self-discovery.
By expanding my digital presence, I aim to create opportunities: opportunities to collaborate, to learn from others, and to actively shape my own professional path instead of waiting for it to happen.
Why These Goals Matter to Me
These goals are important to me because they directly contribute to both my personal and professional growth. I believe that growth is not something that happens automatically — it requires intention, effort, and courage.
I also feel that I owe it to myself, and to the people around me, to make use of the opportunities I’ve been given. I’ve been fortunate enough to have access to education, inspiration, and support, and I don’t want to take that for granted. By continuing to grow, challenge myself, and work towards my ambitions, I want to honor those opportunities and work towards turning my dreams into reality.
What I Hope to Learn — Even If Things Don’t Go Perfectly
I don’t expect 2026 to be perfect. In fact, I know it won’t be. But by the end of the year, I hope to see clear growth in myself — both personally and professionally. Growth not only in results, but in mindset, resilience, and self-awareness.
I hope to learn that progress is not always linear, that setbacks are part of the process, and that consistency matters more than perfection. Most importantly, I hope to learn to trust myself more — my decisions, my instincts, and my ability to adapt when things don’t go as planned.
If I can look back at 2026 and say that I showed up, took responsibility for my growth, and stayed true to my values, then I will consider it a successful year.
